My Advice
The essay is where you stand out. Don’t write about how much you want the money โ write about stories you want to tell. What issues matter to you? What communities deserve a voice?
Tommy used to say: “The best journalists aren’t in it for the fame. They’re in it because they can’t look away from injustice.”
Be specific. Be real. Be you.
